Sunday 22nd May 2011 - Practice Day, Australian National Championships

@ Mt Petrie Bowmen

Warm, slightly overcast at times, light breezes at times.

Approximately 20x 6 arrow ends @ various distances

Total 120.

It was practice day, so I shot a variety of distances to set my sight settings for both field and target events.
Unfortunately I didn't feel that my shooting was great today, as I had left/right windage issues preying on my mind.  My releases weren't crash hot either, so overall it was a bit of an iffy day.  I got my sight settings down, but will be struggling with field for points with shots going to the right consistently.  I tried to adjust over but found that at longer distances, the arrows were going to the left.  Adjustment to ensure I was relatively centered for my target distances means my field shots will be off.  But at the end of the day, target is my primary goal, so field results isn't a huge deal.

I have yet to determine the cause of this, and it could be things like bow tuning, my release, changes in arrow weight (changes wraps and fletch type), or my sight rack might be angled... But I doubt I will find the cause now, though I will have a month to look at it before I head to Gainesville, and even then, perhaps get some help from the coaching there.
